About Us

We are excited to introduce the Youth Arts Alliance of Greater Kansas City!

This non-profit organization was formerly known as the Stage Right Arts Foundation. The Stage Right Arts Foundation was established in 2010 to provide scholarships to arts education programs for young performers. Since its inception, more than $225,000 in scholarships have been awarded to children and young adults from across the metropolitan area.

As of February 2023, we are now known as the Youth Arts Alliance, which we believe better describes our expanded mission and more clearly represents our commitment to the larger Kansas City arts community.  Since our founding, we have been honored to be part of pivotal conversations and efforts in the Kansas City community to connect at-risk and disadvantaged youth to arts education programming. which has been shown to provide a positive, lifelong impact on students from all walks of life.

We all have witnessed the life-changing power that participation in the Arts can foster, a place where healing, hope, self-confidence, and resilience are learned each and every day. The Youth Arts Alliance is committed to provide those transformational Arts experiences to even more at-risk and disadvantaged youth across the Kansas City area. Over the last year, we have seen an opportunity to do even more – to provide not only more scholarship funding, but to also expand our mission and the contributions we can make across the entire metropolitan area.

The expanded mission of the Youth Arts Alliance is to provide even greater access to arts education for the at risk and disadvantaged youth of Kansas City, through an enhanced scholarship program and a variety of community outreach programs.

Community outreach will include, but certainly not be limited to, grants to qualified performing arts programs in the KC area to reach more at-risk and disadvantaged youth, funding to provide supplemental performing arts instruction at area schools through teaching arts, and job skills training/internships for young adults interested in technical or business careers in the arts.
